Harmon E Chord
Harmon E. Chord lived next door to Melody. With his haystack golden hair, electric blue eyes and a winning smile, the girls at school simply melted whenever he grinned at one of them.
King
TATTIE’s shell is dark brown like a potato. Tattie loves hearing tales about ancient Scottish warriors, and especially the stories about Scotland’s history told by two-hundred-year-old “Uncle Jonathan,” one of the oldest living tortoises!
Queen
NEEPS has a lighter colored shell than Tattie and is named after the Scottish word for turnip. Neeps is fun and adventurous and hopes to someday meet Nessie, the Loch Ness monster!
Mr. Sharp
TESS is a retired sheep dog who likes to nap near Mr. McKay in Mrs. McKays garden.
Justin Time
Justin Time was Harmon’s best friend. He was quite gifted in both song and dance, and his fun-loving ways were reflected in the ever-present twinkle in his eyes. This made him irresistible as well
Humty Hard Rock
MR. MCKAY met Annie at a high school dance many years ago. While he too likes to garden and play croquet, he especially enjoys reading a good book on his lawn chair in the garden (where he usually ends up falling asleep!)
Melody Bell
Melody Bell, at nine years old, was not shy when it came to talking about her great wish: to grow up and become the most celebrated pop star in the entire world. That was a tall order! But many people had already told her she showed some ability in that department.
